Hospital Scene night
The hospital corridor smelled of antiseptic and anxiety..
White light flickered softly above.Nurses walk quietly past,their footsteps echoing in silent hallway..
Inside the labour room,
Richa screamed in pain, clutching the bedsheet tightly.
"Aab Mujhse sahan nahi ho raha" Richa screamed.
Outside, Rupesh was roaming restlessly. His hand trembled.
On the bench his mother Leela was sitting, counting prayer beads under her breath.
"Meri bahu aur uske bacche ki raksha karna bhagwan" ( hey god please save my daughter in law and her child) Leela said in fear .
Inside labour room:
Doctor: Breathe Richa. "Everything will be fine "
"Give it a push. You can do it;
Richa screamed as tears rolled down her temples.
And then Richa screamed very loud and room went silent..
" Scream of a baby."
The nurse lifted the baby and placed baby in NICU as his condition was very bad .
Doctor tried to wake up Richa who went unconscious..
But no-one knew that it was last scream that could be heard from Richa before she died...
Richa lost her life while giving birth to his baby.
Doctor: "Richa , Richa ..... Wake up".
Sister give her injection ...she is not responding.
Then doctor gave her pcr but she did not respond.
Doctor checked her pulse .....
Doctor monitored ECG but it went straight and silent.
Doctor removed richa's oxygen mask and went out...
Outside Rupesh was waiting.... His eyes were on the door of labour room . Then he saw the doctor he rushed towards her ..
Rupesh "Doctor,Is my wife okay? How is she ?
"How is my baby? "
"Can I meet my wife can I see my baby's face?"
"Is it a baby boy or girl?"
Rupesh was asking continuously...
But the doctor was not responding....
Then Leela came near the doctor.
Leela" What happened doctor ? Why are you not saying anything?"
Doctor silence was killing both of them.
After a moment
Doctor "I am sorry Mr Trivedi , we could not save Richa. I have told you earlier that this pregnancy is very complicated."
This was Richa 's third child .she had lost her two more children. But this time Richa had lost her life..
Rupesh fell on the floor, and tears started flowing from his eyes .He could not speak any word from his mouth.
Leela "No.....No.....No...you must be mistaken doctor. I heard her voice. She was fine..... You said everything was fine....."
Tears started flowing from her eyes.
Rupesh was in shock til now . He was not in his senses..
Doctor "I am sorry. We tried our best. There were complications......
Severe bleeding...we could not save her". Doctor left from there....
Leela came near rupesh.she put her hand on his head.
Leela: "Beta, chup ho jao. Sambhalo apne aap ko...... Beta, chup ......
Beta......" Tears started flowing her eyes.
Rupesh hugged her and started crying more loud.
After some time he managed himself. He stood up from the floor. Grabbed the door handle and moved towards labour room.....
He entered there. He saw richa's dead body on the bed.... Tears heavily flowing from his eyes.....
Rupesh "Richa get up.... I need you.
Richa.......Richa......Richa .......
Ric.....ri ....." He stated crying grabbing richa's hand...
His mother also followed him. She also started crying..... She grabbed richa's hand.
Leela "tum hamare saath aisa kaise kar sakti ho, beta?
Beta Richa uth jao. .....
Richa. Get up...... Richa we need you...."
After some time they both went silent . This was reality but they don't want to accept it.
After sometime doctor called Rupesh..
Doctor: I am sorry Mr.Trivedi, but the condition of your child is also not stable. We have to keep him in NICU until his condition get stable..."
Rupesh: "Him , is it a boy. " For sometime he forgot about his child.
Doctor replied yes, but his condition is not stable...
Rupesh wanted to be happy but he got more sad after knowing about his child condition.
Then Rupesh went to his house along with his mother and Richa....
Then all the last rites of Richa were done..
DAYS PASSED. ....
Rupesh used to go to hospital every day to meet his son..
After 41 days, that child was discharged..
Rupesh bring his child to home.. He also arranged a care taker for him....
Now Leela and that caretaker used to take care of that little boy..
After some days a ritual of "NAAMKARAN SANSKAR" was performed...
That little boy was named "NIVAAN"..
Days were passing and every thing was becoming stable . Nivaan was also growing well..
Around 8 months passed ..
One dayin the morning 7:45 AM ,Nivaan was sleeping peacefully . Rupesh had his breakfast and kissed Nivaan...
He left for office..
This was last time when Nivaan could feel his father because......
After that. ."RUPESH NEVER CAME BACK"..
On the way to his office he got hit by a car and died at the spot ....
Leela came to know about it.. she fainted..... She could not respond..
She was admitted to the hospital..
After 4 days she came into her senses...
At that time caretaker was looking for Nivaan..
when leela came to her senses he remembered about Nivaan.
She asked the caretaker to bring Nivaan to her..
When Nivaan came to her : she kissed him lovingly.... Tears were flowing from her eyes endlessly...
Leela: "Why god ......why have you snatched the happiness from this little child .. what is his fault.... He don't deserve all this..... Please God give me strength so that I can look after this little child".
After this she could not handle her self and she fainted...
At the age of around nine months Nivaan had lost both his father and mother. But he was too small to understand all this.......
